Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) inside Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula provides round-the-clock, specialized care to patients of all ages who are critically ill or injured.

Find the ICU on the Garden level of Community Hospital, below the hospital’s main floor and near the Emergency department.

For patients and visitors

In the ICU, trained healthcare professionals constantly monitor and care for adult and pediatric patients with life-threatening conditions injuries. If you have major surgery and need care afterward, you may also have a short stay in the ICU.

ICU visiting hours

Family members may visit from 9 a.m.–6 p.m. and 8:30-9 p.m. daily.

  • Call the ICU department for patient updates (831) 625-4950
    • Hours of operation: 6-7 a.m., 11 a.m.-6 p.m., 9-10 p.m.
  • For personal items, please check-in with the nurse when removing or bringing personal items
  • Please designate one support person
